We visited Sugar Creek Restaurant during Memorial Day week end. I ordered the fried seafood platter, my wife ordered fried oysters. We both had French fries and coleslaw. The seafood platter was generously piled high with local catch seafood, including flounder, scallops, shrimp, fried clams and SC's special fried crab balls. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The lightly battered seafood was some of the best I have ever tasted and I am a connoisseur of local seafood! There was more than I could eat. The crab balls were more crab than filler and were fantastic. Cornbread was served to compliment our dinner and its taste and texture was almost like a pound cake my momma used to make! The wait staff was very friendly and kept our drinks fresh and filled. I look forward to another visit to this fine Outer Banks eating establishment!
Great food, awesome sunset. Plenty to watch on the Sound and on the walkways. . . . relaxing way to eat dinner. Thanks.
Thanks to everybody at Sugar Creek! We had our small wedding dinner there Saturday afternoon and everything was great as usual! The waitress was wonderful and the food was awesome as always! We all love the marinated tuna....don't change a thing. Also, thanks for keeping our cake perfect until we were ready for it. The only bad part is I forgot my Sugar Creek glass on the table when I left, even after the waitress cleaned it for me! I was hoping to keep it as a souvenir from our big day.
Please feel free to share my post on your testimonial page. Your restaurant is the first stop for my family EVERY time we come to the Outer Banks, which is at least 2-3 times a year. We absolutely love everything there! Thanks again.
"I'm back in Tennessee :( but used my Sugar Creek Margarita glass by the pool yesterday - brought back very fond memories!"
Very good quality of food and service. Vast menu with child friendly items as well as local seafood and even entrees for those who dont like seafood. Also a great bar selection and friendly bar tenders. Plus you can swing by the sister company next door, Sugar Shack, and get some fresh local seafood on your way back home after your vacation or get some good fried or steamed take out food VERY FAST, Im talking like 3-5 minutes. Great place!!
Great Restaurant, Local Friends took us to this restaurant and food was very good, service was fast prices were reasonable. We talked a long time with very little interruptions. Recommend this to anyone in the area.
It’s that time of the year again for Carolyn and I to spend a week on the Outer Banks. There are many fabulous restaurants to choose from, but because a good friend of ours was nice enough to bestow upon us a nice gift certificate from Sugar Creek Restaurant (Thank you Dr. Joyce Trump), we chose to dine there again this year. This year we arrived between the hours of 4:00PM and 5:00 PM and were rewarded with a generous 20 percent discount on our entrée. I started my meal with a cup of Crab Bisque. It arrived well before my entrée and was piping hot. Let me tell you, it was like eating lump crab meat in butter! My main course was the fried seafood platter and like last year, it didn’t disappoint. Carolyn ordered a fried oyster platter. The oysters were a perfect medium in size and fried to absolute perfection. She said they were the best fried oysters she has ever placed in her mouth. The platter was loaded with at least 20 oysters and accompanied with a side of coleslaw and a baked potato. There was way too much food to consume at one sitting and we still had to enjoy the beast corn cake I have ever tasted. Our friendly waitress was happy to pack up all the leftovers for us to enjoy later. All the folks at Sugar Creek were wonderful hosts and we look forward to going back for more soon.
